BackSpecial Educational Needs
At Seven Fields Primary School, we value the needs and achievements of every pupil and strive to provide a broad curriculum which allows all pupils to learn and progress.
A child has special educational needs if he or she has learning difficulties that call for special educational provision to be made.
A child has learning difficulties if he/she/they:
- Have a significantly greater difficulty in learning than the majority of children of the same age.
- Have a disability which prevents or hinders the child from making use of educational facilities of a kind provided for children of the same age in other schools within the Local Authority. (Taken from section 20 of the Children and Families Act 2014).
If you have concerns around your child’s progress at school, the first person to speak to is your child’s class teacher. If you still have ongoing concerns and would like to discuss your child’s special educational needs, you may wish to speak to Miss Goss.

Copenhagen and Oslo Provision
At Seven Fields, we have developed two dedicated spaces to meet the needs of children who require additional support to be successful in their learning.
Copenhagen is a dedicated regulation space used for sensory circuits, movement breaks, and self-regulation activities. It provides children with opportunities to meet their sensory and physical needs through structured routines and targeted interventions. By accessing Copenhagen throughout the day, children are supported to re-regulate, refocus and return to learning in the classroom.
Oslo, our newly established nurture room, supports children with higher and more complex needs who are not yet able to access learning within the classroom environment. Oslo offers a calm, consistent and highly supported space where children can develop the social, emotional and learning readiness skills they need. This provision bridges the gap for children who may be working towards reintegration into their mainstream class, or who may need longer-term specialist placements identified through the EHCP process.
Together, Copenhagen and Oslo ensure that children at Seven Fields have access to targeted provision that prioritises regulation, readiness to learn, and positive engagement with education.
